Hi,

Your problem is with the download or with the install ?
If it's with download, what navigator did you use ?
You say that you have Vista but which version ? Home, Pro... 32 or 64 bits...
And which version of AutoCAD and Inventor are you trying to use ?

Hello Franck, thank you for helping me.

My problem is with the installation. When the download is complete a message pops up and says install, so i install. once that is done another screen comes up where it says install the product, create deployments, install tools and utilities and read the documentation. so i select install the product and the message appears "you cannot install this product on the current operating system." (this is for AutoCAD 2011)

I have windows vista home premium, 64 bit

I am trying to download autocad 2011, and autocad inventor 2011 or 2010

Vista Home premium is not on the requirements for 64 bits version of AutoCAD 2011.

Direct from Autodesk :

For 64-bit AutoCAD 2011:
Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise, Ultimate, Professional, or Home Premium (compare Windows 7 versions); Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise, Business, or Ultimate (SP1 or later) (compare Windows Vista versions); or Microsoft Windows XP Professional (SP2 or later)
AMD Athlon 64 with SSE2 technology, AMD Opteron® processor with SSE2 technology, Intel® Xeon® processor with Intel EM64T support and SSE2 technology, or Intel Pentium 4 with Intel EM64T support and SSE2 technology
2 GB RAM
2 GB free space for installation
1,024 x 768 display resolution with true color
Internet Explorer 7.0 or later
Install from download or DVD

Well, I am running AutoCAD 2010 and 2011 and Inventor 2010 and 2011 on Windows Vista Home 32-bit version, so I would expect the 64-bit version to run as well (on 64-bit Vista Home). We'll see later this week when I'm changing my OS.

oh, well that is weird. Did you have any problems with the downloading/installation? and do you have any problems while actually running the software?
im still trying to find some solutions, or i might upgrade to windows 7 to get inventor and autocad.

thanks for the post

I have the same problem, but my pc is a HP with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, 4 gb en Ram 750 Gigas DD, and intel dual core 2.4 Ghz.

The steps are:

Put DVD  and automatic detection.

But when I click a Install Autocad 2011

show in screen this error "Cannot install on the current operating system?"

Why show this problem if I have the requirements?

AutoCAD 2011 has 3 DVD’s:

Disk one is 32-bit Disk 1 of 2.

Disk two is 64-bit Disk 1 of 2.

Disk three is 32-bit and 64-bit disk 2 of 2.

Make sure you are inserting the 64-bit DVD for 64-bit operating systems or the 32-bit DVD for 32-bit operating systems.

I am having this EXACT same problem and I didn't see any solution.

I am trying to install the 30 day Trial version. I have tried to install the trial versions of both AutoCAD and AutoCAD Lite 2011 to no avail. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Someone help!

Me too!  I've got the AutoCAD 2011 Student Version.  It came with 2 discs.  One disc is labeled "64-bit", disc 2 is labeled "32 bit & 64 bit".

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3 (32 Bit), and when I try to install from the setup.exe on disc 1, it says "You cannot install this product on this Operating System".  I can't find any setup files on disc 2.

What is going on?

For Windows XP 32-bit you will need:

32-bit Disk 1 of 2 (32-bit installer is on this disk)

and

32-bit and 64-bit disk 2 of 2

Thanks for the info, Douglas.  How can I exchange the discs I have for this version?

The media you have should contain all three DVD’s. If not you should contact your reseller or the Autodesk Business Center for replacement media.

Also, students can download Student Version (32-bit or 64-bit) for free 36-month student license from http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity

I overcame this problem with the Alias package by locating the actual install file and running that rather than the setup file.
