Cannot Complete Installation

I am trying to complete the installation of Student Revit 2011 on Windows XP Professional v. 2002 Service Pack 3. Here are the error messages I receive:

#1. can't find content.rd

#2 Error 1308 source file not found C:\autodesk\autodesk_revit_architectural_2011_english_win_32-64bit\revitsetup\revitarchitecture\revitconfig.xml

#3. Error 1308 source file not found C:\autodesk\autodesk_revit_architectural_2011_english_win_32-64bit\revitsetup\revitarchitecture\content.rd

#4.  1:52:adminPITSetProductInformation failed.3:2.6

Any ideas other than simply reinstall.  Because you are not allowed to simply reinstall the student edition.
Thanks.

Have you had a look at the technical solution which address the same error?

What do you mean, you can't simply reinstall a student edition?  I downloaded Autocad 2010, and when I go to install it, I get a message that says 'will not run on your current operating system'.  I have all of the system requirements, so it should be able to run on my computer.  I have deleted it and tried to reload it.  Is that my problem?

Hi Brittany...

The error message is telling you that you are trying to install the wrong 'operation system version' of the software.

Windows comes in two versions: 32-bit and 64-bit.

If you have the 32-bit version, you have to install the 32-bit version of the software. If you have the 64-bit version of windows, install the 64-bit version.

Hope this helps 🙂
