Can't shake off the error codes...

Well, downloaded it succesfully, went through the install bit successfully, clicked the next "Install, Install on this computer" - Determining installation requirements... then accept the legal jargon, entered my code succesfully, clicked install again then almost straight away it just says they all failed to install and the log says a mixture of error 1619, error 1603, C++ 2005 redistribution failure and C++ 2010 redis...

Got a state of the art PC that can run anything else, everything is upto date..

So this is the current message:

You are getting the error most likely because you are getting conflicts Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package. You can manually install the components manually through the links below:

For Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package

Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable Package manually. You can find the download here:

32 bit:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=5555

64 bit
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=14632

Hope this helps.

Sorry about that. You can uninstall that version and install either of this:

For 32 bit

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8328

For 64bit

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=13523

Install C++ manually before your Revit application.

Keep me updated.

Good lucl!!!

Nope, getting exactly the same as the last

worth re-downloading overnight?

Message 6 of 11

I am sorry to hear that you are still getting the error. Error 1603 is a generic error. You can download again if you want to, but check you .NET Framework 4.0 using the cleanup tool and reinstall.

.NET Cleanup tool can be found here:

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx

Here is a link to the download for the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0: Standalone
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=0a391abd-25c1-4fc0-919f-b21f31ab88b7

Web Installer
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=17851

Try fixing .NET Framework 4.0 and run the C++ installer again before installing Revit.

Good Luck.

Try going into Control Panel and Uninstal the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributables, both x86 and x64. Then try reinstalling Revit.

Design Review has some problems if a new version of the 2010 redistributables are installed.

Thanks,

Danny

Thanks for your help and quick responses on this, but i couldn't keep uninstalling upto date software on my computer just to install yours so i installed the older version as im doing a Uni study reviewing all the current competing BIM programs in the market, so that was the easiest way to solve the problem.
