Can't open Autocad files saved in 2004 format using 2007

We have a customer that requested that we give them Autocad drawings in the 2004 format. They are using Autocad 2007 and they can't open the drawings. Is this because we saved them as 2004 files created by 2010? We could use some help on this.

Autodesk ensures full backward compatibility between DWG files.
A drawing saved in 2004 format from AutoCAD 2010 opens correctly in AutoCAD 2007. Just tested and is the case.
What message(s) receive the user when try to open the drawing?
Opening the drawing with the RECOVER command, there are relevant messages in the log displayed in the text window?
Is possible to post one of those DWG files?
