Can I generate Activation request code manually?

Hi everyone,

I've installed Maya2011 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.

The install does not report any errors but for some bizarre reason

Maya is refusing to generate a request code so that I can send

to the Authorization centre and activate the product.

Is there a way to generate a code using the shell instead?

Thanks in advance

EL

As an update I tried reinstalling but this time using the command line to register for a license.

I get a "serial number not recongnised, Call set SerialNumber"

That is puzzling as I've used the number to activate many times before. In fact Maya2011 is running fine on the same computer under Mac OS X on a secondary hard drive. But of course the Linux version always has to misbehave as you'd expect !

Gratitude in advance.

El

Sorry to hear about the activation issues.

Please delete this file and try again,(if exists)

/var/opt/Autodesk/Adlm/.config/ProductInformation.pit

Many many thanks

In fact whilst waiting for a reply I dug out my student serial number and it worked!

Not sure why my commercial license serial was causing such errors

Take good care of yoursel

Wouldn't that delete all of the existing activations as well?

Yes it is for all the Autodesk products (2010/2011)

This will not delete activation itself. if you reinstall with the same product key and serial number the re-activation might not be necessary
