I have a similar issue. I purchased Revit Architecture 2010 (w/ Autocad 2010 & Architecture 2010) thru subscription when it first came out. After installation both Revit & AutoCad would crash when opening or shortly thereafter. I posted the issue to Autodesk support thru my subscription service. They stated I needed to remove all my older AutoCAD products. I resisted due to having a whole lot of Autodesk software some of which I still used. I had AutoCAD 2000, AutoCAD 2007, 2008, 2009:ADT 2004: Revit 2008, Revit 2009 Suite, Revit Building 9.1.
Recently, I decided the need to have Revit 2010 was greater than holding on to the older versions of autodesk products. I have since removed AutoCAD 2000, ADT 2004, AuotCAD 2007. My AutoCAD 2010 seems to work fine after unloading & reloading. However, Revit 2010 seems to be installed correctly but when I first open it . . . it crashes. Gives me no warning . . . just disappears. I have unloaded this software at least four times and reloaded (applying all the applicable patches. . . I think) . Like the post I am replying to . . .I have the firewall off when installing. Not sure if the issue is a license issue or what ??
I also spent a week on computer maintenance trying to clean it up but that does not seem to be the issue. I would appreciate any help here.
Thanks.
