Borrowed licenses...

All,

I'm encountering a problem with releasing licenses that have been borrowed.  I borrowed a license onto a laptop for 2 days, then returned it after one day.  The license on the server is still showing it being used by the laptop.  An Inventor user cannot access that license, it will only allow usage on the laptop that released it.

Is this a server problem?  Or is there a method to releasing that license back into general usage?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I see you have Subscription and only 1 seat for Inventor Simulation Suite. Normally the trick for this is to re-borrow. Then re-return the license from the laptop as the user who borrowed it previously. This requires an unused license for the time in between the borrow and the return.

We will need to connect to your server to release this. I’ll get a Service Request started and someone will contact you.

Thank you for the response.  The IT manager reset the server last night and it free'd up the borrowed licenses.  We will have to try the other trick next time we run into that issue.
