Best method of installing Patches and Service Packs

We have a network installation of ABS and ADT. I would like to know the best method of installing patches and Service packs on end users workstations. How are others doing it?
Any suggestions?

Well, I wouldn't suggest patching your Deployment. But that is one option.

What I normally do is download the Service Pack and place it on a network location and have the users install it on the machines. You could also set up a group policy to have it installed automatically.

Generally speaking, I use Norton Ghost to image all of my computers, so they are generally already patched. I do not install hotfixes/patches though, as they are generally only for computers that experience the problems that happen in the readme. It is better not to fix something that isn't broken. Patches of ways of breaking other things.

Everybody is different. I'd like to see what others are doing as well...

Hi travis,

For AutoCAD i make the same things like you.
No problem no patch.
But for Windows i apply security fix.
It could be a problem but security is critical.
