Autodesk Maya 2013 '0xc000007b' error

Hello I have recently attempted to upgrade from Maya 2011 to Maya 2013.

After I installed 2013 and it attempted to open it a message popped up saying:

"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."

At first I thought it was because there were 2 versions of maya on the same machine so I uninstalled EVERY piece of Autodesk software and reinstalled Maya 2013. The error message still appears.

How can this be fixed? I've searched everywhere but found no reliabe method.

This shouldn't be getting in my way.

I am on Windows 7 64-bit

I am having this exact same issue, and have found many threads on it all over the internet with no solution.

Have you had any luck with it?

Hi andrewalbon and pjmbraddock,

Through a search here on the forums I've been able to find these two threads containing possible solutions for this error:

Thread 1

Thread 2

Please, can you try the methods mentioned on these threads and let me know if they work for you?
