Autodesk License Manager and VIZ4 and ADT2005

First, I apologize from cross-posting this, but I'm not sure who will know the answer, so here is the subject: We currently have this installed for Autodesk VIZ 4, utilizing FlexLM for 3 licenses of VIZ 4. As I was about to installed my ADT2005 version, I noticed that the Autodesk Licensing Manager wants to go into the same folder currently used by the VIZ 4 manager. My questions are: 1. Is this ok? Should I go ahead and install over this folder? 2. Should I uninstall this older version first, then install the newer one? 3. How will either of the above effect my VIZ 4 licensing? Thanks! -- Regards, --------------- Reid M. Hi Reid, you need to stop your existing license manager, uninstall it (after uninstall your VIZ license still resides in the same location) , install new NLM from the ADT 2005 CD to the same old location, then get license for ADT and combine them together so, you will be able to use ADT and VIZ. Hope it helps. Efim "Reid M. Thanks. I had read a bunch of other messages about this and they all seem to say the same thing, so we are going to give it a try tomorrow morning. The IT "Guy" knows more about the network stuff, so we are doing it together. -- Regards ---------------------- Reid M. Sorry about cross-answering. Answer is in the ADT 2005 NG. Actually it follows the lines Efim told you about. >> Make a backup of the folder. Stop the license managers services Uninstall the old one Install the new one Combine the license files Start the license manager services You might also manually update the files found on the CD: \ADT\Support\nlm\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager Stop the license managers services Update the files Combine the license files Start the license manager services -- Best Regards, Jimmy Bergmark CAD and Database Developer Manager at www.pharmadule-emtunga.com Take a look at JTB FlexReport (FLEXlm report tool) - www.jtbworld.com/jtbflexreport SmartPurger (Purges automatically) - www.jtbworld.com/?/smartpurger.htm or download some freeware at www.jtbworld.com More on AutoCAD 2005; www.jtbworld.com/autocad2005.htm "Reid M.
