Autodesk Design Review 2013 Setup - Installation failed.

I am on Windows 8 RTM x64. I am trying to install Design Review 2013, but the "internet connection" isn't being "found". My internet connection is fine. See the following:

Please be aware that Autodesk products are not yet supported on Windows 8.  You should look to see if you can find a full download if available.

dcuccia,

Hello. This program is not supported on Windows 8, so it may not be usable in your environment. There is an alternate download method, however. I have a link for you hat describes this here:

Hmm, but I'm getting the same error message... on a workstation that's WinXP 32-bit. I've tried the alternative download option as well. Any other ideas what I can do?

Thanks in advance.  ~Sona

sonablue,

Hello. I would uninstall the program and wipe the residual folders for Design Review. There could be residual traces from a failed install.  First, run the MS Fixit utility and try to uninstall Design Review if it lists in this program.

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall\

Next, look for and delete residual traces that may be there. They will be clearly named and in a variety of places:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\

C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\

C:\Users\All Users\Autodesk\

C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\

C:\Users\**YOUR USERID**\AppData\Local\Autodesk\

After all this is clean, make sure you have the MSI installer on your system.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8483

Log in with an Admin account, turn off Windows UAC and Antivirus and give the install a go.

Hi dembkod,

Hmm, those look like folders in Win7, not WinXP. Nevertheless I'll look for their equivalent and clear what I find.

It's become less of a priority now that I've been switched to a Win7 machine myself (irony!), but a few other CAD users in my group are still using WinXP workstations and might like to see this resolved.

Thanks,

Hello

I am getting similar errors as shown in the images on the 1st post.   I am using 64 bit windows 7 and I am in a Corporate environment, not at home.  Is it a firewall or other security issue that is blocking me?   My internet connection is fine.  Here is what I downloaded and the error I get.  I tried version 2012 also, got same type of error.
