Will Autocad Mechanical 2005 run properly on Windows 7?

The short answer is no.

 

The long answer is nooooooooooooooooooooo.  Smiley Very Happy

 

The thing about 2005 is that it was designed well before the profile and service changes in Windows 7 happened.  Even if you can get it to install and launch, the licensing service is completely incompatible.  You will almost certainly not be able to activate the product.  Also, your 2005 will be a 32-bit install on a likely 64-bit OS.  Your best bet is to try and find an old XP machine, if you intend to use that retired product.
