I am getting an error message when I try to open drawings in Autocad 2004 sent to me by others.

INTERNAL ERROR: !dbspace.cpp@1954:eUnknown Handle

that is the error message above.

I would really appreciate input as to what this message means and how I can fix it.

To resolve this problem, use the RECOVER function to audit and fix errors in the drawing that causes the error. AutoCAD will fix the problems with the drawing. You can then save the drawing and edit it without errors.
