Hi,
In my office we have an Autodesk Building Design Suite with several licenses available, both standalone and network.
The problem is that there's one computer which can't open Autocad 2014 with a standalone license: it gets stuck on loading in the splash screen.
Every other computer which has the same software works fine. We tried to reinstall the building design suite, we even formatted the hard drive but the problem still remains..
The thing is, if we disconnect the pc from the network, it opens autocad...
What may be the problem?
What more information on this error should I give you?
Thanks
anyone?
Grab some free Windows tools to monitor activities while that PC is connected to the network and identify what is hanging the program. Something like Microsoft's Process Monitor freeware etc.
sorry for the delay....
yes, I did try the method suggested but to no avail...I did a clean uninstall of all autodesk products as they suggest, including registry data and hidden files in programdata folder and so on...
But the problem remains...autocad opens for the first time, but when I turn the pc off and then back on, it gets stuck on loading again....
I don't know what to do now...there should be no problem with the license file, because here in our company we have 9 licenses and only 5 are in use...We have both network and standalone licenses and neither seems to work on this particular PC....
do you think a format will solve the problem?
strangely, Revit works but all autocad products dont'! I'm installing Building Design Suite Premium...
why would Revit open but autocad not? Do these products have different activation methods or something?
edit: In fact, all products in the suite work except for AutoCAD's (Vanilla, Architecture, MEP....)
If both Revit and Autocad are installed through the same suite and share the same licensing method the comparison is not meaningless in what licensing is concerned...
But nevermind...I figured out that the problem is with the user profile which might somehow got corrupted...
well, at least I thought I did.....now the new profile causes autocad to get stuck again....
guess i'll have to give a go at format c:....
Hi i have the same problem with my PC and Design suite. Were you able to solve the problem and may i know how? Thanks
Sounds like it might need a interent connection. You could try installing fidler and checking the traffic. Though last time I looked autocad didn't like proxies. Do the users have modify permissions to c:\program files\autodesk ?
For anyone having this issue after installing windows 10. If you have a network user name, right click the autodesk under c:\program files and adding your network user name to security and give yourself full premissions.
I'm glad you're still replying after all this time!
I recently found out why I was having such troubles with autocad. It turns out that something is wrong with the deployment of printers from the server, somehow causing autocad to fail to open up. I come to this conclusion because when Autocad is stuck at "loading", if I restart the "spooler" service, autocad magically comes alive and finishes loading.
I hope this may help anyone who might be having the same problem. I don't think this will solve all the problems with "Autocad loading" because I realized that there may be several explanations for this behaviour...
