AutoCAD 2012 User Rights

I have a User who is not getting full functionality out of AutoCAD LT

I've tried some of the suggestions for fixing but no luck (some luck, but still issues).

Background:

Program was used by a previous User on this machine, logging to an AD network with no Admin or Local Admin rights.  User has left and when his replacement logs on, he does not have full fucntionality of AutoDAC LT.

Giving the new User Local Admin rights is not an option; previous User did not have them.

Thoughts, tips on what I need to give this User?

Thanks, Matt

mtallon ,

“not getting full functionality” is a pretty vague description of behavior. Without knowing what you are actually meaning, I am thinking maybe there is an issue with the user program profile? Possibly the ACAD workspace was not generated properly? Our programs need access to particular folders in order to work. If the user is locked down to prevent access it could easily prevent the program from accessing and building its desired files and folders when the secondary installer runs. The software needs full permission to:

Registry Entries:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER>SOFTWARE>AUTODESK

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>AUTODESK  *

Folders:

The folder the program was installed in c:\program files\AutoCAD 2011 (for example)

XP:

c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\Autodesk

c:\documents and settings\<the current user>\application data\Autodesk

c:\program files\common files\autodesk shared

c:\Program Files\Autodesk

Win7/Vista:

C:\Users\All Users\Autodesk

C:\Users\<the current user>\AppData\Local\Autodesk

C:\Users\<the current user>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared

C:\Program Files\Autodesk *

C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk

At the least, I would test giving the user permission to these locations to see if it helps.

Hi, thank you for your response.

If I choose to reinstall, do I need to recover the license (uninstall) or can I just reapply (same machine)?

Thanks!

Matt
