I am problems trying to install Autocad 2012 on to a windows xp sp3 workstation. Using the dvd it starts ok and counts down from 12 of 12 items remaining to 7 of 12 (microsoft visual c++ 2005 etc) then counts back up to 12 of 12 then fails. I have tried a clean install etc but nothing works. ideas?

Copy the DVD to a folder on your hard drive and install from there. Make sure you have local admin rights and that your anti-virus is off.

If it is failing on that prerequisite, go to Microsoft and install it manually first.

If it still fails, post the installation log from your %TEMP% file.
