we have a 2012 deployment we have been using for several months. Recently it has stopped working.
IT may have modified their image, and this may be affecting the deployment.
I noticed the image include .NET Frameworkd 4.5.2 installed before ACAD 2012.
Here is my LOG file (failure report) :

I need a solution soon.
thanks.

Solved by Hochanz. Go to Solution.
There are a few issues that often cause deployment failures:
1. You are installing a service pack with the installation. If this is the case, choose not to add a service pack to the deployment. You can patch the installation after deployment. 2012 was notorious for failures on service pack inclusion.
2. Your UNC path is too long. At some point during the installation, the path exceeds the character limit. I notice that your shared path is unnecessarily long:
\\vista.com\files\Corporate\IT\SC
Simply share the AutoCAD2012 folder in your hierarchy and the UNC path will become:
\\vista.com\AutoCAD2012
You can still keep the physical path at the location that it lives. Just share the last folder and point the deployment there. Having a long share name is both a problem and defeats the purpose of folder sharing. It is not supposed to be complicated. I understand folder heirarchy for ISO9000 and other documentation purposes, but sharing \files\ and drilling down is not efficient. If \files\ is already shared for other files, that is fine. Share \AutoCAD2012\ specifically and you will be in a lot better shape.
3. Make sure that your share is writeable. I typically give full access to the everyone account on the folder permissions as well as the share permission.
Hope that helps!
Travis:
it fails at the DirectX install part. I've created a C:\Temp folder in an effort to fix it.
i will look into the pathing issue.
any thoughts on the DirectX or the .NET FRAMEWORK i mentioned.
I see no indication of a failure for DirectX in the log. It only shows that it cannot do a rollback... which it would not be able to do. The failure is in the actual deployment and needs to be narrowed down from the known culprits.
Try a shorter path and also make sure the SP isn't included, as in my example here:
Thanks.
ok.
changed the installation paths...here is the latest LOG:

Still fails after the configuring dialogs complete and the DIRECTX dialog starts.
Yes. its there.
And this is what i believe to be the issue (perhaps user permissions):
(see attached - end of Local Install Log)
In an effort to resolve this issue, I re-mounted the installation files on our network location and recreated the deployments.
Upon testing, the installs now work perfectly fine.
Sometimes the solution is reboot or start over.
Thank you for your help.
