AutoCad 2011 Installation Error = 1603 and 1619

I've been reading through some of the discussions about errors in loading AutoCad 2011 and cannot seem to find a solution to my issue. I'm attempting to load AutoCad 2011 on a WIndows Pro. XP platform and I'm getting these errors:

Install Direct x 9.0 Runtime   Succeeded

Install FARO LS 1.1.406.58 Succeeded

INstall Autodesk Material Library 2011 Succeeded

INstall Autodesk Material Library 2011 Base Image Library Succeeded

Install AutoCad 2011 Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603

INstall Autodesk Material Library 2011 Base Image Library Succeeded

INstall Autodesk Material Library 2011 Succeeded

Install FARO LS 1.1.406.58 Succeeded

Install Direct x 9.0 Runtime   Failed Failure is ignored, Result = 1619

Any help would be appreciated.

1603 is a generic error which could related to the permissions (registry/folder/file). If you can find the detailed log in the %temp% folder, it should have more details. If you can post the parts which mentions about the errors, we could help you find the cause.

Directx seems to install Successfully, so we can ignore that for the timebeing.

All,

I am having the same issue. Below is what I believe is the full installation log that Autocad 2011 created during my several attempts to install.  My errors always appear to be 1603 and 1619.  I have manually installed DirectX9.0 Runtime in hopes that would reslove my issue but it did not.  Any help would be amazing.  Thanks!

Like the user before me, I, too, am getting the same error when installing 2012 on my XP machine.  It gets to a point where AutoCAD's main content has started to install and fails saying that the DirectX needs to be installed/updated.  Problem is, not only did the DirectX install at the beginning of the process, but I also installed it separately before launching the AutoCAD 2012 setup program.

What else can be done to fix the problem?

Thanks, Vincent

My solution to the issue was to install autocad LT instead...Seems to work fine now as long as your willing to sacrifice sheet set, purge etc...

Please post the compressed log file from temp folder (normally the verbose log files should be bigger than 100K, upto few Mbs)

Message 8 of 23

Everything that was in the log file posted in this topic is the same with the exception of the AutoCAD version being 2012 instead of 2011 and obviously the username.

Message 9 of 23

this is only summary log, we need the detailed log.

please delete all files from temp folder, start the installation.when it fails, please compress all the files from the temp folder and post it here.

Also please try to copy the installation source to the local disk and try to install from there

Here is the installation log.

About the copy source and install from local, I've already done that as well as create a deployment and neither worked.

Message 12 of 23

Has there been any kind of resolution for this error "1603" problem.  If it helps, I have tried installing straight from DVD, from deployment, and from DVD copy to local drive and still receive the error each time.  Each time a window pops up saying that DirectX needs to be installed.  I have installed/updated DirectX before attempting to install and still get the same error.

Message 13 of 23

Please try the installation in diagnostics mode

if it fails, please post the verbose log from temp folder

I changed the system to diagnostics startup and enabled the logging key.  Here are the files from the failed install that I attempted.  Hopefully you or somebody will be able to figure it out.

Message 15 of 23

This is the actual error in the log

Error :: Please install DirectX before installing AutoCAD 2012 - English.

Please try to run the directx setup manually from the DVD/the downloaded content.

Eg:-

Media\3rdParty\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe

I have installed/updated DirectX for the three different installs I have attempted. (DVD, Copy DVD to HDD, and Deployment)

I still get the same error each time.

Message 17 of 23

If the manual directx setup was successfull you could try to disable this in the setup.ini (you will need the local disk copy of DVD)

Find the following line in setup.ini (root of Media)

PREREQUISITE=IE;SSE2;DOTNET20;DOTNET4;DOTNET4LANG;VCREDIST2008SP1X86;VCREDIST2008SP1X64;DIRECTX;FaroSDK;MSXML6;WMF95X64;CM2012;CMILB2012;SNAP_PRE

replace it with

PREREQUISITE=IE;SSE2;DOTNET20;DOTNET4;DOTNET4LANG;VCREDIST2008SP1X86;VCREDIST2008SP1X64;FaroSDK;MSXML6;WMF95X64;CM2012;CMILB2012;SNAP_PRE

Message 18 of 23

When I removed DirectX from the PREREQUISITE line in the setup.ini file, it still gave me the same error.  When I had said before that I updated DirectX, I was only using the update included in the 3rd party folder on the install disc itself.  I have since went to Microsoft to download an updated version of DirectX End-User runtime redistributable, installed it and updated it.  AutoCAD 2012 has now finished its portion of the install and moving onto the other components to be installed.

My conclusion is that the DirectX files on the AutoCAD 2012 install disc are incomplete and do not contain all necessary files.

Thanks for your help.

Message 19 of 23

thanks for sharing the result. basically they are not the same files(we have some additional dlls with our directx), so I assume your original directx installation with the OS was corrupt, so MS version fixed it. once it was fixed Autocad installation went through.. (just a theory, i will investigate further)

If you get similar errors with Directx installation in the log, please try the following

Install the directx from the Autocad 2011 Media

setup file would be in

2011 Media\Support\Directx\DXsetup.exe
