AutoCAD 2010 (Student) Now ONLY Runs From Disc

hello...

Installed AutoCAD 2010 Student V about 4 months ago; & all was working fine.

Today, I attempted to open the program; & there was no executable icon in the program group. So I double-clicked on one of my *.dwg's; & a dialog came up that told me the program could only be run from disc...so I inserted the disc; & AutoCAD configured itself & opened. The program now opens when a *.dwg file is double-clicked, in a normal fashion.

But...the executable icon is still not in the program group (Start > All Programs > AutoDesk > etc.)...meaning that I still cannot open the program by itself.

How do I get that function back...???

thanks,

mark4man

Probably something happened in your system that has corrupted the AutoCAD installation.
I would suggest you uninstall and reinstall it again to reset the correct functionality of the program.
In the meantime, you can create a shortcut in your desktop pointing to the file acad.exe located in the AutoCAD installation directory.

I think you must be correct, Antonio....

...'cause...I copied the .exe from the program files & pasted it into the program group...but that doesn't work.

(desktop shortcut does, tho).

thanks,

mf
