Dear all,
Hey All,
I have some strange behaviour of my Inventor 2013 x64 standalone license - installed on a windows 7 x64.
After a normal reboot of the computer Inventor cannot be started anymore and leads to the following error message.
see attached files.
It is an 90-days test license from Autodesk - but at the moment we are still in the valid time period.
Repair or uninstall via appwiz.cpl (windows program list) is also not possible.
Launching modify button on the Inventor 2013 entry leads to an CER window.
I checked also the folder C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Adlm - I deleted it, restored it, deleted some files, ...
Killed the HKCU\Software\Autodesk\Inventor Profile, restored, ...
Deactivated the antivir program
and so on ... each with restart of Inventor - still the same error message.
...nothing helped until now.
Does anyone have an idea about what can be done?
Thanks,
DK

My guess is that if you deleted the ADLM folder (which includes the ProductInformation.pit file) then you might as well rename the license files here:
%programdata%\flexnet\adsk*.data
Blow away anything still left in the ADLM, reboot, then reinstall Inventor. You should have to reactivate at that point.
Once that happens, I imagine you will be in better shape. But right now, the whole license system is hosed.
Old thread, but just to chime in with my solution to the same error.
I had the error pop up with Maya 2015.
It turns out I'd accidently had a script create a folder in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\maya\ called 2015, when it should have been 2015-x64.
I guess Maya looks in the 2015 folder first, fails to find what it needs for licencing and generates the error. Deleting the folder fixed it for me.
