adding inventorv11 to current flexnet

I am running flexnet v10.1, currently being used for Matlab and Pro Wildfire 3.0. I would like to add inventor on to it, but I cannot see a tool to do this (something which both Proe and Matlab did themselves). I have never manually added a product before and would like to know if there is an easy way to do this.

Well, it could be easy or hard depending on the approach.

For AIS11, you will need the following items before it will work:

1. You need to upgrade your FlexLM to 10.8. This can be found on the Inventor media. Upgrading to the new version will not break your existing licenses for your other products, as FlexLM has always been backwards compatible.

2. Your Inventor License File. You can get this file from Autodesk by calling 1-800-551-1490 or your reseller can help you. You can also get it here: https://register.autodesk.com/servlet/COM.autodesk.EReg.ERegServlet

3. You can then either add a new service for the Inventor license file... or... you can combine that license file (if it is compatible) with the ones from your other vendor. Instructions are in the manual.

The process appears to be harder than it really is. If you need more help, just respond here.

How do you add a new service to inventor? I downloaded a user guide for flexnet 10.1 and it does not say how to do this?

Start lmtools.exe and make sure that you use services. On the tab "Config
Services add a new service.

I've tried pointing my inventor service to use the same lmgrd.exe as ProWildfire3.0, but when I run the "use Inventor Professional Lience" and enter the server name or ip address I get the error code error[1.5.=97].

You don't create lmgrd.exe. You copy it from the installation media.
adskflex.exe, lmgrd.exe, lmtools.exe, lmutil.exe can be found on the
installation CD
\bin\acadfeui\inventor\support\NLM\Program Files\Autodesk Network License
Manager

You need the latest version 10.8 of these files.

If you already have it running in a folder say c:\flexlm I suggest you stop
the service(s).
Copy the 4 files to that folder as well as the license file for Inventor.
Configure the service to point to the correct files.
Start the services.
