Activation Issue

I was trying to activate 3ds max 2011 64bit under a student serial when I ran the activator and got the same window as in this post: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=6404339&linkID=9240697

I followed the instructions (as it was listed as a solution for a the same problem for someone else with 3ds max) on the post only to find out both parts in the registry were already set to 0 so I'm assuming active scripting was already enabled.

I am running windows 7 64bit ultimate. I checked the adlm for a log but found none. I did right click and went to properties for the webform for the activator and got an error:

Error: Type mismatch: 'BodyLoad'

A view source showed nothing with "BodyLoad" in it unless it was in one of the script or css files listed in the first part of the source. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'll be needing this for a class next semester.

Please try the following

-Internet explorer repair http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378

-Reset Internet explorer security settings to defaults

-Disable Anti virus

-Disable Internet explorer add-ins (3^rd Party).

I reset IE and not only disabled but completely uninstalled all 3rd party plugins. I made sure IE was set as default browser (saw in another support answer) and disabled my AV. It didn't solve so I aded the autodesk folder to my exceptions and it still didn't work. I finally uninstalled my AV completely to see if that would work and I'm still getting the same problem.

Sorry to hear that, it didnt fix the issue. Looks like we will have go bit more deep into the issue,

is there anything which is blocking the active scripting (group policy etc.)

not sure if you did a repair of IE and Securtiy reset (under internet options->Advanced)

That page had a fix for me. I had to unregister the jscript.dll and vbscript.dll and reregister them. Not sure which one actually fixed it but afterwards it works like a charm. For those wondering what the exact fix that worked for me its this:

While logged on as an adminstrator account click start and run then in the box type in "cmd" and enter then type in the next few lines:

regsvr32 /u jscript.dll
regsvr32 /u vbscript.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll

This will unregister both dll's and reregister them. After doing this reboot.
