Acad get Inventor Licence

HI !

If I've a FLEXLM Server with 7 of 51300INVBUN_11_0F ( Inventor )
What's happen when I lunch AutoCAD ( from Inventor CD Installation) :

1-
I can open 7 Inventor and 7 Autocad ( Because it's two .EXE )

or

2-
I can open 7 Inventor and Autocad, because Autocad use the same licence of Inventor

Thanks for the answer !

Only 7 total licenses can be used. However one license 'per machine' will run both products simultaneously.

This means that on one single machine, you can launch Inventor and AutoCAD at the same time and only use one license. If you launch Inventor on one machine and AutoCAD on another, that is 2 licenses.

Make sense?

Actually it's license policies from flexlm:

1. Each application take 1 license (since that is how flexlm works in
general)
2. Sharing is specified by "DUPGROUP=UH" which mean duplicate grouping on
user and host.

I never said that it is easy though 🙂

It should be in the license file.

You can verify by running lmutil lmdiag -n -c port@host
Then you can see if user and host grouping is in effect.

3-
What is the "Duplicate grouping"

The idea is that a group only takes one license. with the "UH" case it means
that users running on the same host with same username will only take 1
license regardless of how many application instances you're running.
