OK so I own the 2010 software but we are using 2011 in school so I need it now. Lucky for me its now free for students BUT it won't let me instal. I get the error message 1311 can't find 86x/max/help.cab What the hell is a .cab? It isn't where they said it should be so what do i do now? I downloaded it directly from the autodesk site and I did it twice just to be sure but it still has the same issue.
Anybody know how to fix this?
Thanks for the help.
Clear out the contents of your Temp folder then try again. To navigate to the Temp folder type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Explorer or in the start menu. You might also try rebooting in Diagnostic Mode.
Thanks for the help, but I ended up solving the problem by downloading the trial version (which worked fine) and then putting in the registration #'s to it. So i'm up and running.
Thanks

Downloading from the Trial page is just downloading it form an alternative source. The installer is the same and activating the application with the Serial Number and Product Key are what distinguish one type of license from another. This seems to indicate the original download you had been corrupt of had some other problem. I am glad to hear you have it installed. I hope you enjoy School.
