3ds max fails mid install

I know theres have been many post about this but i cant seem to find an answer. i just got a new laptop the asus n56j, andd am trying to put 3ds max on it.  well every time i try it stops mid way througjust after matiral library install, and yes i am running win 8.1(not by choice). any way ive tryed running it as admin ive turned of fire wall/antivirus, turned uac off but nothing works. ill attach a log from latest install to this post. please help i need this to work by next semester!

Here's the point of failure

"LEGENDInstallAutodesk® Material Library 2014 - Medium Resolution LibraryFailedDownload Failed, Installation aborted, Result=1603"

it's saying the download failed. Perhaps try using a different install method than the "install now". Instead let's try the direct download link form the virtual agent. Instructions are below.

To use our new virtual agent as follows:

1.       Go to http://www.autodesk.com

2.       Click on Contact Us 

3.       Click on Customer Service 

4.       Click on Virtual Agent “Ask”

5.       Once the Virtual Agent opens: 

Select the 2nd Choice "Download Links "

Select your product

You are now presented with the choice to download your software.
