3DS Max 2014 install issue

Hello, my 3DS Max is failing to install. I've been trying to fix this issue for quite some time now and don't seem to be any closer. Looking through my %temp% file, I think my problem is here. It seems to be a permission error?

Is this my problem, and how can i fix it? My error log gives me a generic 1603 error.  Thanks for any help.

Rename C:\Autodesk to C:\Autodesk2.

Download Max using a browser download via our Virtual Agent (#3) noted here:

I have tried downloading it with all three options and two of them fail with the same error. The download manager option had an error and failed the download completely.

Nope didn't work :(. Gets to 7/12 left and fails on 3ds max 2014 and starts rolling back. Just installing the .exe for 3ds max only gives me an error "Service 'mental ray satellite for Autodesk 3dsmax 2014 64bit failed to start"

Can anyone help with this it's driving me up the wall.

If you have an older version of Max installed, uninstall Backburner, reboot and try the install again.

This is the first version of any autodesk software I have installed.
