3ds max 2014 crashes on startup on Windows 8

My 3ds max crashes on startup. I have tried installing the 2012,2013 and 2014 versions and they all crash on startup. Except for the 2012 one which runs for a minute then crashes. It works on all my other computers (which run windows7). Is the problem windows 8?

My specs are as follows

i7 3770k

gtx 650 ti

windows 8 pro

Need help asap

The problem is likely video card driver.  Make sure you are running a WHQL certified driver.

I am experiencing this exact same issue with Win8 Pro trying to get 3ds max 2014 to install. It installed fine on win7.

I am also having the exact same problem on my ASUS laptop running W7.

Max runs fine on my desktop PC with W7.

Ive tried all the possible fixes I could find. Max used to work on the exact same laptop.
