3ds Max 2013 won't run due to "Unknown system exception" error

When 3ds Max 2013 launches the 1st time,

the MassFX Toolbar is displayed,

followed by "MAXScript Callback script Exception" window,

followed by "Unknown system exception" window,

followed by: "Application will now close" window.

My system is an Intel Core duo Wolfdale Processor 2.93GHz+ 4GB Ram+ Windows XP Pro Service pack 3

I have been running 3ds Max 2010 32 bit quite well for 2 years.

Same issue here, tried reinstalling, no avail. Any ideas/solutions?

The solution was: re-read the System Requirements.  I had to install a graphics card. 2010 worked great from my MSI motherboard.  It so happens that I had a graphics card that works with 3ds Max 2013 32bit WinXP Pro.  I had previously removed it because it caused to my system to reboot randomly (even with a 550W Power Supply). So I guess I have to buy a replacement graphics card now.   I will try to select one from the Autodesk recommendations listed at:
