3DS MAX 2011 - Blank (no radio buttons) activation window

Hello.

I've been having a "variant" of a very common problem relating activation in 3DS MAX 2011. When I click activate I get a blank window... a tottaly empty, gray, with no radio buttons, window, like this:

I've tried everything... editing windows registry, reseting Internet explorer security settings to defaults, registering jscript.dll and vbscript.dll, activationg through a new admin/user account... I've done it all. I'm desperate.

What am I missing?

I have Windows Vista 32, Comodo firewall, Avast antivirus. Intel i-7 920, 3GB Ram, 2xNvidia 285 GTX (sli), Asus 27" monitor.

... Help!...

Thank you for the reply.

My Internet version: 8 (8.0.6001.19019). What do you mean with "try in diagnostiscs mode"?

Well... it didn't work.

I unnistalled IE8, activated the ActiveX controls, re-registered the dlls and... nothing. Still the same gray empty window.

Nope. I have 96 dpi set.

I was wondering... I use Firefox (default), not IE. Does it have anything to do with it?

#$%&! I found it! I just remembered to deactivate firewall and antivirus (I was almost certain i had tried that already). It was the firewall... it was blocking the **** thing!

Well, one thing led to the other... thanx!

Gday mate I'm no techie but this worked for me. Create a new user and give them administration rights download or open the program in this user but when windows asks you install windows updates decline cause as far as i can tell it see's the activation page as a random number do dad and will block it.

should just follow normal steps from there and after you can delete user.

hope it helps

peace
