3D Plant best practice for Notebook, PC and data on NAS

Hello Community,

I have a Notebook, a Computer and a Network Attached Storage here. On both computers I have 3DPlant installed. I want to store the Projects on the NAS so I can work on both Computers.

So far so easy and now the problem is coming. As it is a notebook and those kind of machines are portable I want the data to be mirrored to a local drive. In my mind it was a good idea to use Offline-Folders to do this. However Practice has shown that this does not work since projects are often damaged. The synchronization stops due to an error and the project is damaged.

And now it is your turn to help me. What is your suggestion to do to avoid such problems. How do you use your projects in a mobile environment?

I hope for ideas…

Best regards,

  Anna

Use Autodesk Vault.  This will allow you to manage check-in and check out of files and maintain integrity of the file database from any kinds of errors or unwanted changes.
