2014 Plant Design products and anti virus

Our users were having problems accessing our license server and after the initial try they would loose network connection to the license server.  After some investigation we found that the Autodesk software was scanning ports 27004, 27005, 27006, 27007 and 27008 on the license server.  When this happens the virus scanner (Symantec) sees the scan as a threat and blocks the user from accessing the server, preventing them from pulling a license.  The work around is to disable the virus scanner.

Understandably, the network administrator is not comfortable with disabling the scanner.  He was hoping that I could track down which of the products was scanning the ports and why.  Anyone else having the same issues, and if so, what have you done to resolve the issue?

those ports are being used by the license manager

The FLEXlm® based version uses the following ports:

  • TCP ports 2080 (for the adskflex vendor daemon)
  • TCP ports 27000 to 27009 (for the lmgrd master daemon)

you need to allow these ports through
