Will AutoCAD LT 2012 run on Windows 8? I am going to need a new computer soon and am not sure if I should configure it with Windows 7 or 8. I am currently using a 64 bit Windows 8 machine. Thanks!
it works for some, it fails for others. There is no guarantee with Win8 (or Win8.1), but Win7 should work beautifully. Try it and find out.
You can try using xp mode if Win8/Win8.1 has that (not needed in Win7 with 2012 products). or you can try using a 3rd party tool with Win8 (Win8.1) called longbow: http://www.longbowsoftware.com/ (it's not free)
I just realized that I mis-typed on the original post. I currently run ACAD LT 2012 on a windows 7 machine. However, my computer is getting to replacement stage. I can budget for a new computer, not a new computer and new software. So I should likely play it safe and stick with win 7.
