Wacom sensitivity issues

When I transform or generally navigate the ui in a dense scene using my stylus/tablet (wacom intuos 4 maya 2015 ext 1 mac 10.8.5), maya won't realize i've stopped translating, etc until my stylus is really far from the tablet.  so if i move the camera, then go on to my next task while hovering my stylus, maya still thinks my stylus is touching the tablet and won't release.  I have latest drivers.  Thoughts?  Never happened in 2014 or prior.

  • Hello.

I didn't see anything logged for this in our database.

It sounds like some sort of lag, where Maya may not be receiving that Wacom input in time due to a lack of resources.

I think this is something that you can experience also with a mouse and the right circumstances.

I would personally test with a mouse just to confirm.

Maybe you are using a different Viewport mode now, which complicates things even more.

Also, perhaps it has something to do with the Wacom driver,

perhaps disabling 'enable touch input" may help inside the Wacom driver.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi Manny

Thanks for the suggestions.

I have disabled Multi Touch.  I have tested this in all 3 viewport renders, hw, legacy and viewport 2.0.  I have tested this on a 2010 Mac Pro 12core with 680 GTX Mac Edition with 10.8.5 and also tested on iMac 4 core i7 with 780M and 10.9.5.  The issue persists with both scenes.

The funny thing is, this behavior does not happen with the mouse and in fact when I need to be precise I switch to the mouse.

I have the latest drivers.

If I open the scene in 2014, no problems.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I'd like to test this on a mac.

Let me know how many objects/polys the scene has approximately.

Display >heads up display >'objects' and 'poly count' will tell you.

Thanks for looking in to this.  This can't just be me right?

I have 278 objects totalling just under 4 million polys.

Just to reiterate, mac 10.8.5 (but also experiencing at home on Mavericks 10.9.5).  Maya 2015 Ext 1.  Wacom Intous 4S with driver v 6.3.9w3 (latest).

I got to thinking, could be way off, but could it be a QT thing?  Is spotify QT, because I'm also experiencing it really badly in that app, where it will not release the scroll bar.  Not asking you to diagnose that though, just trying to be thorough.

But here's the crazy thing, I have not been able to replicate the problem in Maya today.  It's working like a dream.  I'm at a loss.  Feel like I'm leading people on a wild goose chase.

The issue is back and rearing it's ugly head.

Here's where it's really apparent.  I created a ramp, and trying to move the interactive placement sliders really lags when I release the stylus, thus dragging the position marker to an unintended position.  Especially when I move them quickly and release.
