I just got a laptop for college for just under 1500$. The VRAM recomendation is 8GB, but I was aiming for a minimum of 4GB. The guy I was talking to at the store said the Nvidia Geforce GTX 870m in the laptop had 6GB of memory. I used system requirements lab to see if my laptop could run a game, it lists your laptop specs when it's done. I checked and it said I only have 3GB of video memory. Can I raise it? Is it fine?
I don't think I can return it, the laptop was a display model with 10% off so it was a final sale.

Stupid question time: are you checking video RAM, or system RAM?
