Maya crashes.

Hi,

I have this problem and I can't find a proper solution.

Maya2015 crashes as soon as I have about 1000000 particles. I get a msg saying Maya has to be stopped because lack of memory. I have 4GB GPU and 24GB RAM. I have no idea what the problem is and how to fix it.

Windows 7 SP1 64bit is my OS.

Any ideas?

Could try setting environment variable MAYA_USE_MALLOC=1 before running Maya to see if that changes anything

you can setup Windows environment variables  from:   My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings ->Environment Variables

either from the Control Panel  or right click on MyComputer icon

create a New variable,   with Variable Name:    MAYA_USE_MALLOC   and Variable Value:  1

will need to restart Maya for it to see the new setting
