I'm having the same issue with a barnd new install myself. I had 2010 but am required to use 2015 for class. It's so frustrating. My first project is due tom and I can't do a thing.

I am having the same problem. I searched through forums and tried as much as I could. I finally got Maya 2015 to install but Mental ray and DirectConnect will not install. My class requires it as well and the technical service at my school had problems and said it would possibly take a week. I ran chkdsk /r and sfc /scannow, made sure visual c++ isn't an issue and I can not pinpoint the error. It totally sucks.

My first assignment is a 0 because I can't get it to work. Guess I'll have
to use 2010.

I brought it to the help desk on my campus and my problem was that there
was an error when visual c++ installed. They deleted it and re-installed
correctly. I made sure I had it so I never second guessed that it was the
problem because the log files got past it. I am not sure if this helps.
There are quite a bit of factors such as registry, if files are corrupt and
so many others. The support at autodesk didn't help but I recommend taking
it to a professional if you can't figure it out.

I have an idea which is not very appropriate but it will definitely work!!

First you have to install any virtual machine software in your computer...Eg: VMware....

Second you have to install same windows or operating system in which u are working on...

Once u have installed your operating system u can install maya in it...

It will surely work but it will affect your system speed for some time............................

Hello @kganevsky!

As this is typically caused by system / Microsoft errors, your students will need to view the installation log to see specifically what's going on. They can find the log by clicking on the linked installation log file shown  in your screen shot below, or by the following instructions.

Location of the log files generated by the installation of an Autodesk product

Once they have it open, I find the easiest way to find the root cause is to search for the word 'failure' and see what it's connected to.

The most common issue as well as the corresponding solutions can be found below.

Error 1603 during installation of Autodesk software

Ok.

We will try this.  From what I have read most problems are because of

temp files that are full

not enough room on the hard drive

not enough RAM

Would you agree?

Thank you

While those can be potential issue drivers, I do not think they are relevant to this particular problem.

Ok

What then are some of the fixes they do to address the problems found in the error messages.

It all depends on what's inside the install log 🙂

They can find the log by clicking on the linked installation log file shown  in your screen shot below, or by the following instructions.

I was having the exact same problem, and so when I went to reinstall, I instead chose to install utilities, then reinstalled to install program on computer. suddenly its working and that was the only change I made.

Hello @Anonymous!

Were you able to check your installation log to see where it's failing?

Same here.

First communication error as above, so I DLed the manager download package.

Came in fine, but then the Installation Failure splash as someone else here posted.

Some serious hooplah to install the big M, huh?

I have an OK system that runs Blender, Modo and LW just fine and never had any install issues.

Clean and updated Win7 64bit.

Wonder if this could be a bug in the 2015 installer?!

I am having a slightly different problem with my install of MAYA 2015...

Dowload through browser is OK but when I try and do the install with my key code and ser # the only option I have is a 30 day trial....

NOT the Student 3 Year install ???

This was on Mavericks 10.9.1

I managed to install 2014 Student 3 year with NO PROBLEM on same system but different OS (Mountain Lion) (Different boot partition)

BUT I would really like to get 2015 up and running on my Mavericks 10.9.1

Any thoughts or solutions ???
