Maya 2015 on Mac: When I make a selection, the viewport becomes black...

So,usually this happens when I first launch Maya 2015 after turning on my macbook pro .

If I close it,and reopen it,this problem might go away,if not,I need to log out and log in again.

Is there a way to fix this once and for all ?

I have the same problem. I can confirm that it happens both in early 2013 and late 2013 Macbook pros. It doesn't matter if it's Maverick 10.9.2 or 10.9.3.

Good to know that I'm not the only one ...

Well, late 2013 macbook pros are recommended hardware for running Maya 2015 optimally,I didn't expect this to happen.

It's annoying but let's hope it doesn't lead to any greater problems...

Semi-acceptable solution is to first not to load any scene file and then making a selection without actually selecting anything. After that load scene normally and select normally.

The problem might be related to files that have been made with a prerelease version of Maya 2015. This seems to be the case with the excercise files that came with the Introduction to Maya 2015 -tutorial by Digital Tutors.

Can you confirm that files made with Maya 2015 SP2 haven't got this problem?

My configuration:

- Macbook Pro, Retina, late 2013

- Nvidia Geforce Gt 750M

- 16 GB

- OS X 10.9.3

I am having the same issue. It's so comforting to know that I'm not the only one. I was hoping to find a longer term solution though.

I have same problem.

I updated to Maya 2015 SP5, and i also used the temp solution deselecting when i switch the views, but problem persist.

Question:  anybody used maya 2014 and had same problem? or all of you started using 2015 (just like me)?  because if its a 2015 version issue i will considering switching to older versions... i´m a begginer and i dont need the last version of Maya for the moment.

Regards!

MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010)
