Maya 2014 SP1 UI bug or missing menu?

What happened to the options in the Modify>Convert dropdown menu option. I have several of the options missing as you can see from the screen shot attached. The left is what I get with Maya 2014 sp1 and the right is an older version of Maya.

hi,

I have all menu options in my Maya2014 sp1.

Could you try to rename or delete maya user setting folder?

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\My Documents\maya\"version"

windows7: C:\Users\"user name"\Documents\maya\"version"

Then when you lunch maya, select "create default preferences".

IF it don't work. Could you tell me the version and cut ID in about Maya windows.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, resetting the user prefs is the first thing I tried. No luck. Here is the screen shot of the version and cut id.

Your Maya version same as my. I don't know why.

Could you try this.

1 create a new windows user

2 log in as new user

3 lunch maya select "create default preferences"

If it don't work do this

1 uninstall maya

2 create a new windows user

3 log in as new user

4 install maya

5 lunch maya select "create default preferences"

I don't know if the 3rd pulg-in lead to this problem.

Resolved!

It appears that the ModObjectsMenu.mel script was preventing the Modify>Convert menu to show all the options in the menu. This is an Autodesk script written in 2009 that I picked up and put in my MyDocuments/Maya2014/Scripts folder. I verified this on my laptop as well. Not sure why and when I picked it up.

Thanks

William

It was part of HKLocalTools. Thanks for the post, this saved me a lot of work figuring out where the items from the Convert menu went!!!
