Mac trackpad gestures don't update viewport

I enabled trackpad gestures in Maya 2015, and they don't seem to work properly: the viewport doesn't update as I perform the gesture. If I hit a key afterward (e.g., Option/Alt), the viewport updates to reflect the gesture just performed, but nothing moves while I'm actually performing the gesture.

This problem doesn't occur when I use other methods to manipulate the viewport (e.g., Alt-drag or even two-finger scroll to zoom).

Any idea what's going on? This is in the Maya Trial version, which is 2015 SP2, so I suppose it's possible one of the more recent service packs has fixed this.

Thanks.

Hello,

Thanks for posting to the Area forums.

It is definitely possible that this is something that was resolved in a later service pack. You can install the Autodesk Maya 2015 Service Pack 5 from the following link to see if it is helpful in resolving the issue you are experiencing:

You should be able to uninstall the version you currently have and and then install the Service Pack 5. It should continue the trial version with the time you had left.

The other thing that I think may be a good idea is to update the driver for the Mac Track Pad.

I wanted to include the following link. It is possible that you already came across it, but wanted to add it in case it is helpful:

Unless I'm missing something, what you're proposing won't work. You can't install the trial on a single computer more than once; uninstalling it and then reinstalling SP5 will void the trial, even if it hadn't ended. This is based both on my own experience and on conversations with multiple product support folks. (See https://twitter.com/autodeskhelp/status/545680069302423552.)

That said: I was able to find a way to install SP5 without voiding the trial, and can confirm that the problem still exists there. AFAIK my drivers are up to date, and I tried the instructions at the link you sent. (The gestures it describes are the ones that are broken.)

Thanks.
