Installing Maya Educational Linux (RPM)

I teach game design and I would like to install Maya at home to become more profient so I can develop someMaya units at school .  I spend most of my time in a Linux environment at home.

Additionally I teach Linux and it would be an excellent task for my Linux students to install Maya in our lab.

Where can I download Educational rpm's ?

How long does the License last ?

I've read a few guides for legal Autodesk installation .

http://help.autodesk.com/view/MAYAUL/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-E7E054E1-0E32-4B3C-88F9-BF820EB45BE5

I just want to install Maya alone:

  1. Package name Description Required

    Maya2015_64-2015.0-#.x86_64.rpm

    Maya for Linux

    Yes

    adlmapps9-9.#.x86_64.rpm

    Autodesk licensing

    Yes

    adlmflexnetclient-9.0.#.x86_64.rpm

    Autodesk stand-alone licensing

Only for stand-alone licensing (Not required if you use network licensing)

    adlmflexnetserver-9.0.#.x86_64.rpm

License server tools (for network licensing)

    No

  2. To install the required software, enter either of the following commands (where # indicates the specific package numbers), depending on whether you are installing Maya on a computer with Mudbox already installed:
    • To install Maya alone, enter:
      rpm -ivh Maya2015_64-2015.0-#.x86_64.rpm adlmapps9-9.0.8-0.x86_64.rpm
      adlmflexnetclient-9.0.8-0.x86_64.rpm
    • To install Maya with Mudbox, enter:
      rpm -ivh --force Maya2015_64-2015.0-#.x86_64.rpm adlmapps9-9.0.8-0-0.x86_64.rpm
      adlmflexnetclient-9.0.8-0.x86_64.rpm

Thank you,

CW Coleman

1.  Check your system requirements.

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-req...

We only support Redhad/Fedora/Centos.

2.  Use Setup to install it.  It will look like Maya on the Mac install.
