I have been having a lot of random crashes on my MBP which has necessitated me to look at the crash logs. There are a number of issues that can be easily seen. One of these is that it appears that the backburnerManager seems to be crashing a lot. I'm not sure if this is part of my problem but the simple fact is I don't use backburner nor do I want it.
To ultimately fix my issue there are a number of things I need to do, one of which is to update the firmware on my SSD. This will necissitate me doing a clean install of my OS and a new clean install of Maya. This next go around I don't want to have Maya install backburner. I don't remember completely but the new installers, I do not believe, give you the choice of installing backburner. Perhaps they do. I'd like to know.
Also, for in the meantime until I can rebuild my machine is there any way of uninstalling backburner without trashing my whole Maya installation?

Hi rimcrazy,
Backburner is not installed with Maya 2015. If you're installing Maya 2014 or eariler it will automatically install Backburner. You can remove Backburner after it's installed by following step 2 at http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/2012/04/maya-2012-on-mac-how-to-delete-maya-from-your-com....
Thanks for the info. Appreciate it. Forgot that backburner is not included on 2015.
