Batch render crashes with Windows error report

Hi,

I haven't had to batch render a scene for a few months, but this week mayabatch.exe keeps crashes with a windows error report. All renderers crash in the same way. Ultimately, I want to render with software renderer as there's particles involved. The details are below:

Don't know if FOUNDATION.dll is the actual problem. I've copied over my co-workers dll, but that didn't help. I've uninstalled and re-installed Maya too. So now, I'm here...

Since my last batch known successful batch render, I've install a Gefore 9800GT - so I'm not sure if that's where the problem lies. The Maya render log seems to have a lot of "gl* not found (error 6). The renderlog for the last crash is below:

I'm going to try run the onboard graphics after lunch to see if that makes a difference. Then going to try updating or downgrading my graphics card driver.

If anyone else has had similar issues or knows what's going on, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed

Tried switching to onboard graphics card and had the same problemso assuming changing nVidia drivers won't make a difference.

Hi

Got the same problem, excepting it crash maya once lauched
I am on win64 and gtx460 with latest drivers
Seems to be a graphic problem related to foundation.dll
when running Maya -prompt and working without GUI it works.

Hi, could you please elaborate on the "Maya -prompt". I've tried doing a command line render through a .bat file, but it still crashes. I'm running Vista64.

Hi All,

So I renamed my preferences folder and used Maya's default preference folder. Batch render now works! Just a case of figuring out which script is causing the problem.

Kind regards,

I found a fix.

I removed all the env variable set manually into windows env for MAYA_SCRIPT_PATH and MR_ROOT, then it works.
I probably got something wrong into my old .mel scripts making a crash, or something into the MR_ROOT variable set for mr standalone.
Now it works.

I have same problem like you rooftop.
I can't render animation, BatchRender keeps crashing... I have last drivers installed, also.

It seems that after deleting 'prefs' folder as suggested by rooftop all is working like it should.
