Which features are Road Extension?

Can someone describe which roadway features are only part of the ultimate suite and which are part of premium?

Hi,

as far as I can see (played ony a few minutes) you have

- the option of a real profile view to control the elevation and curving

- more control for the alignment (like control over the clothoides) and

- when exporting the objects to Civil3D you don't get something like a simple polyline with a lot of vertices, you get a street-like alignment with clothoids.

I will try to create some screenshots of that features a little bit later (just not enough time in the moment).

Hey Tim...

The Ultimate suite contains the Roads and Highways module which will let you optimize profiles.  This is the only feature not in the Premium package.

My understanding is with the ultimate package you can

  1. Create more realistic roads, i.e. roads with true curves and spirals horizontally and a true profile vertically.
  2. Optimize the profile for those roads via the "Profile Optimizer".
  3. Import those roads into Civil 3D and they will come in as alignments and profiles.
  4. Import Revit models directly into Infraworks without having to export them out of Revit to some other format first.
