Where is data from?

We like to know where our data comes from when compiling maps and such.

After I've used Infraworks Model Builder to build my Infraworks 360 model, how can I find out where the data came from?

Is my terrain from USGS DEM files or recent LiDAR data or what?

Where did the imagery come from and what is the imagery date?

Etc.

In the Model Builder dialog box, where you select the area, it tells you were all of it comes from.

Thanks, good information, but...

I'm past that point. I have an infraworks model I did a month ago.

Can I find out where that data came from without going back to Model Builder?

Idea just came to me. Maybe there is an .xml file somewhere I can look at.

I went back to model builder and it apparently gets all the information from that same data.

Is that right?

No matter where I went in Model Builder (Arkansas, St. Louis, New York), it told me the same thing.

So it looks like Model Builder gets all its terrain from the 10 and 30 meter DEMs.

I guess I was under the assumption it got the best data it could find in the area of interest.

Hi Lyle,

just for information and outlook, the possibility to choose from or add different data sources in the Model Builder is on the road map for future releases.
Not all of them are free though, but if you have legal access to the data you can use it for your InfraWorks Projects in the Model Builder.

Regards,
Karsten.
