could anyone give me any work around or fix to the reason why this feature sends my computer into a spinning circle of death....
I have a coverage area (parking lot) that i created from a shape file, configured to draped on existing surface, then edited the coverage area to shape terrain so that it would look decent, flat surface - not draped.
Each and every refresh of the model there after, i wait 10 mins for the refresh to complete and the blank hour glasses go away, extremely slow regeneration of the model, which isnt very complex to begin with. The model is completely fluid and responsive until this point...Any help with this process would be greatly appreciated!
Could you please supply an image of the feature in edit mode from the top view showing how many vertices the feature has? If for example it has excessive vertices forming curves it could be something like that for example which is causing a problem. If there was a problem with the geometry definition this sometimes shows itself when in edit mode as well.

Ya know, thats exactly what the issue was. When the shape file was created, there were numerous amounts of vertices on the curves, so thats why the long regen time. What I did was take a separate coverage area and make a more simple bounding box around my parking lot and leave the style blank, so it doesnt show up, but yet the parking lot coverae still sits on a flat surface.
A work around I guess and much faster, responsive regen times...
btw, Thank you for your response.
