import FBX into AutoCAD C3D

I am exporting my roads (ground) as an FBX and trying to pull them into AutoCAD C3D.

I want the road parts to come into different layers - sidewalk, road, etc.

I've checked the "export materials/textures" box when exporting FBX, and the "materials" box when importing into ACAD seems to pick up the materials and I select "layer by material" (see attached image), but I always get all of it on one layer titled "Material."

anybody know how to fix this?

thanks!

Hi,

not an answer for your question, but why don't you use the IMX format to exchange data between InfraWorks and Civil 3D? The IMX format is designed to keep features, i. e. InfraWorks roads become corridors in Civil 3D, surface stays surface as well as pipes, etc. ...

Regards,
Karsten.
