How to check the shape file attributes in Infraworks

Hi Everybody,

Is any one know how to check/view the attributes of loaded shape file object?

Like Buililding name from shape file, Road information, Road Name, POI Name, etc.,

I want to see or disply what ever the shape file attributes we had added.

similar like viewing attributes in Arcgis or Autocad(Object data).

Thanks & Regards

Surendra Kumar N.

Hi Surendra Kumar,

when you load a shape file into InfraWorks the whole data is treated as one dataset.
For example after importing a shapefile of building footprints you can only select all footprints at the same time and edit them as if they were one object. If you like to have separate footprints you need to import them as separate shape files.
You have access to the table attribute data of a shape file in the style dialog for the shape file.
Open the data configuration and where you define the style you can define an expression based on attribute data, for example all building footprints larger than x m² have blue color.

This is an example of Open Street Map shape data of landuse:

Hi Surendra Kumar,

so currently there is no automated process of mapping/importing the attribute data into AIW when bringing in a shp file.

In the config dialog you need to mapp these attributes as you like. These will then be imported.

Once it is in AIW you can select an object and find the properties in the context menu.

To view the whole building table for example you may go to the "Model Explorer", right click on builidngs and open the data table.

You may use filter select to reduce the list items if needed.

Note: the data table is not working with the slection mode for data sets for example.

Hope that helps.

Andreas
