History of InfraWorks/Infrastructure Modeler

Does anyone know the history of InfraWorks?

Did this software come in an acquisition? If so, what was the company called. What country were they in?

Infaworks origin come from an acquisition (3D Geo Gmbh., A German company acquired around 2008 or so) , the product has been further refined in Autodesk Lab (Galileo), before being renamed AIM (adsk infrastructure modeler), then Infraworks as we know it today...

My 2 cents

Hi @tcorey,

in addition to what @nicolasmenu writes, InfraWorks was born as "LandXplorer" at 3D Geo GmbH.

Regards,

Karsten.

right, the company 3DGeo was acquired. Their product was Landxplorer, which hasn't been further developed. InfraWorks is a totally new development from scratch after the acquisition.
