coordinates

I have my model set to a state plane coordinate system. The XY tracking is correct, but looking at the Z, it is in meters when it should be feet. Anybody lknow how I can change this display? Thanks (see attached image)

Hi MKH,

All database data is stored in meters and the user coordinate system (UCS) display defaults to meters. You can change the UCS and Default Units of Measurement.

1) Click the Settings and Utilities icon (Wrench and Screwdriver icon).

  • You can change the UCS through the Model Properties dialog box.
  • You can change display units using the Application Options > Unit Configuration tab.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Elliott

Also-- I know this isn't completely related, but good to know:

From the 2015 InfraWorks and InfraWorks 360 readme:

  • If a model’s UCS coordinate system is set to Imperial Coordinate System, editing the elevation of an object using the elevation gizmo will cause incorrect elevation to be reported in the mini-toolbar that displays. To resolve this, set the UCS coordinate system to Metric Coordinate System using the Model Properties dialog box, then open the Application Options dialog box, choose Unit Configuration, and change Default Units to Imperial.

Oh, sorry I should have asked, I was referring to the newer UI. Not as familiar with 2014 as I am 2015-- I pulled this information from another forum thread

"If you are on InfraWorks 2014 you should be able to change the units in the program options that are accessible by clicking on the "I" sign of InfraWorks in the top left corner of the program window. Then open the program options (bottom right)."
