Cannot split a road

When I click the Edit existing Features tool, then seelct my road and right click, I do not have Split as an option on the menu.

Docs say you can split a road at any time.

Am I missing something?

Thx!

Are you in "edit" mode?  You have to be in edit mode.

Yes, I clicked the second icon in the vertical toolstrip, with the pencil. (Create Edit Features)

Then the Edit / Draw toolstrip appears and I select the frist icon, and select my road. All the edit gizmos appear but the right-click does not contain Split, only Add Point, Recreate Profile, Road Properties and Exit Edit Mode - which to me says I am in Edit Mode.

Maybe it is the Ultimate version plugins, messing with the context menu? Profile options are not included in Standard and Premium, I don't thnk.

I;ve noticed that I can open some sample models and Split their roads, but not mine. Even if I add a road to the sample model, my new road will not split, but the existing roads will.

Anybody know what I am missing. Help docs are worthless...

If it is a "design" road, you do not have the option to split it.  If it is just a "Create Roads [Road]", you have the option to split it.

I've seen the terms of Sketch vs Design, but from the UI, how do I know which is which?

And is there a way to go back from a Design road to a Sketch road?

Thanks,
Mike

I tried a few different options and was unsuccessful in doing so.

Just thinking outloud, perhaps you could export the .imx file, bring it into C3D, export that as a .shp or .sdf file, and then import that as a road?

Seems like a lot of work but that's the only thing I can think of currently.

Hi,

I really dont understand why split command was removed in "road and highway module". It is very useful command if anybody wants to exchange one style for the second style. Typically just to draw two collinar roads with gap for a bridge. It is question, when these commands are missing, if it is worth to use it. Also snaping doesnt work correctly...:(
